dAIologue (built on the PHONLAB platform) is an English-language learning tool for teachers and students, currently in active development ahead of public launch. You are being invited to take part as one of a limited number of BETA teachers to try the platform in real conditions and tell us what works, what doesn't, and what's missing.
As a BETA tester you can expect to:
BETA testing is currently capped at a small number of teachers. There is no fixed end date at this stage; we will let you know if and when the BETA period is due to close, or if your access changes.
"Verification data" means the information used to confirm who you are and manage your account: your name, email address, and login credentials.
To improve the platform and understand how BETA features hold up in real use, we collect:
We do not collect payment information during the BETA (it's free to participate), and usage data is not used for advertising.
None of the data described in Sections 2 and 3 — verification data, usage data, lesson/course content, or feedback — will be shared, sold, or disclosed to any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. The only exceptions are: (a) where we are legally required to disclose information (for example, by court order), and (b) essential service providers that help run the platform itself, who only process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
The service providers under (b) currently include Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services, which processes microphone audio to score pronunciation; Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from automated abuse (Section 7); and Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces the site uses. Our Cookie Policy sets out what each of them receives.
If you'd like to involve your own students in your testing — rather than testing solo — each participating student (or their parent/guardian, for younger learners) must first read and agree to the separate Student BETA Participation Notice before you add them to a live BETA class. Students can withdraw from testing at any time without it affecting their normal access to your course.
The BETA application form is protected against automated submissions by Google reCAPTCHA v3, alongside a hidden honeypot field. reCAPTCHA v3 works silently in the background and scores how likely it is that a real person is filling the form in — you are never shown a puzzle or a checkbox, and there is no extra step to complete. To produce that score, Google receives your IP address, details of your browser and device, and how you interact with the page; see our Cookie Policy.
As a thank-you for testing, dAIologue may offer participating BETA teachers complimentary access to a limited selection of courses for a period of time. This has not been finalised — details, eligibility, and which courses would be included are still being decided, and will be communicated separately if and when offered. Nothing in this document should be read as a confirmed commitment to this perk.
By checking the agreement box and submitting your BETA Tester application, you confirm that you have read and agree to this BETA Teacher Agreement.
