How to become a dAIologue beta tester — the same six steps whichever profile you need.
Teacher, student or admin, the route in is identical: you request access, we approve it by hand, you receive a token, and you log in with it. Only the last step differs — once you're in, you read the guide for your own profile. This page covers everything up to that point.

Getting access
Beta places are limited, so none of this is automatic. Expect a short wait between steps 2 and 3 while we read your request.
1
Request access. Tell us your name, your email, and which profile you need. Teachers and students use the same request form, and your answer decides which permissions and which guide you get, not which queue you join. A school applies on its own form instead, because we set schools up by hand.
2
Read and accept the agreement. You can't submit a request without confirming you've read it. It sets out what we collect, how we use it, and what we ask of you as a tester. Read it first if you'd rather — it's public, linked below.
3
We review and approve. Every request is read by a person. You'll get an email either way.
4
Your token is issued. Your approval email carries a verification link and your personal access token. Follow the link to set your own password.
5
Log in with your token. Sign in with your email, your password and your token. Keep the token somewhere safe: during the beta it's checked on every login, not just the first, and it binds to your account the first time you use it — so it can't be reused on a different account, and a stolen password alone isn't enough.
6
Set up your profile. Your first login asks for a display name, your first language and your age range. First language matters — parts of the interface can be shown in it. That's setup done.
The Beta Tester Agreement
Accepting it is part of requesting access, and we record when you did. It's short, and it's public — you don't need an account to read it.
What it covers
•
What data dAIologue collects while you test, and what it's used for.
•
That this is pre-release software — things will change, and occasionally break.
•
What we ask of you in return, chiefly that you tell us when something doesn't work.
Installing for full access
You don't need to install anything to try an activity or to join a class by QR code — both work in any browser. Installing gives you dAIologue in its own window.
•
Your work is saved either way. Scores, Scrapbook entries and class records live on the server against your account, not in the app — nothing is lost if you stay in the browser.
•
We'd still like you to install it. The installed app is part of what the beta is testing, and it's how most testers will end up using dAIologue day to day — its own icon, its own window, opening straight to your dashboard with no tabs or address bar.
•
Install on desktop for the fullest version. Mobile install works too, and is the better choice if you'll mostly be joining classes rather than running them.
Next: your profile guide
That's the access path done — it's the same for everyone. How you actually use dAIologue depends on your profile, and each one has its own guide.
